LT Khalia S. Warner, USN and ONI Commanding Officer, CAPT Todd Ross, USN

In a ceremony at the Office of Naval Intelligence on 23 March 2010, LT Khalia S. Warner, USN was presented with the Captain Sidney E. Wood Naval Intelligence Foundation (NIF) Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) Junior Officer of the Year Award.

ONI Commanding Officer, CAPT Todd Ross, USN and CAPT Sidney Wood, USN (ret) jointly presented the award to LT Warner in recognition of her exceptional performance while serving as lead Senior Watch Officer, Global Maritime Watch, and Operations Officer, Naval Intelligence Task Force Maritime Security, at the Nimitz Operational Intelligence Center of ONI.  LT Warner expertly trained 12 watchstanders who provided high quality, fused intelligence on maritime domain awareness issues to national, theater and fleet level commanders.  She skillfully instituted and developed a new tasking structure that improved efficiency, streamlined operations and increased production of customer tailored products across the department.  The award consisted of a Commemorative wall plaque and 5-year membership in Naval Intelligence Professionals. CAPT Wood also presented a permanent plaque to CAPT Ross on which all the winner’s names will be recorded and displayed in the ONI History Foyer.
